Need advice on career path in linux

Hi friends,

i am a linux admin at l1 level. with 4.5 years of experience.intially i was
working as desktop support in windows after server admin role on windows i have started
my career in linux system admin for past seven months. i planning a career path in following technologies please suggest proper guide on it.

LINUX ADMIN (RHCE CERTIFY + BASH 0R PERL ?) + AWS CLOUD ADMIN + AUTOMATION CHEF PUPPET

first i am planning to do my RHCE certification at first. it seems the scripting knowledge
is been most important for admin on a day to day task. so i am planning to learn
scripting on Bash, but seems Perl is so advanced that bash. which one will easier and
effective one to learn. after that i am planning to do AWS on cloud. my idea
is to set career path with Linux and amazon cloud it seems in current situation
on Enterprise environment these combination will do great .please correct me if i am wrong. Add your valuable advice too

First, do NOT GET A CERTIFICATION FIRST...that will give you a paper certificate, when you will not have the knowledge to back it up. Get EXPERIENCE first...learn things. As far as what else to learn, there is no 'guide' to follow...every single job will have different requirements, so get DEPTH of knowledge.

And there is no way anyone, anywhere can tell you what will be a good thing to have in five years or so.

You say you've been working as a Linux admin for 7 months.

What duties are you doing? Can you possibly identify the areas of Linux interest where you need to concentrate your learning? Do you have any peers in this position who can mentor you about the knowledges which are best to accumulate? Explain why you feel obtaining a RHCE is something worthwhile to you. Note that you can learn all about scripting without being certified at anything. Read up on the various script languages and start practicing. Plenty of the questions in the Programming Forum cover various scripting challenges, as well as programming challenges. And there are also sticky notes in that forum covering additional, helpful information.
