Need advice/help on making pc into Laboratory for remastering, etc??

Mornin gang

I'm having issues when remastering that sometimes I don't have the correct system installed
and can't have access to certain libs, etc I need
as most pkgs come as source or need to be installed

So, I am going to have to install various distros and some partitions for the lab too
heres what I'm thinking so far

sda1 ext3 slack 13(will also contain fedora 11 persistent**read below)
sda2 ext3 Ultimate 2.3(will also contain slax/grml/pmagic/puppies, all persistent)
sda3 ext3 absolute 13(will also contain sidux persistent, DSL frugal)
sda4 extended
sda5 ext3 debian lenny
sda6 ext3 slack 12.2
sda7 ext3 absolute 12.?
sda8 ext3 knoppix hd install
sda9 ext2 persistent for grml/tinycore/slax and others
sda10 ext2 main lab
sda11 ext2/3 lab for booting the remasters(meaning the remaster
wiil be installed here, any)
sda12 ext2/3 another lab boot
sda13another and cause its bad luck to make 13 the last partition(swap)
sda14 swap

most of distros I wanna remaster are slack/deb/ubuntu/knoppix based

**I cannot install fedora 11 hd install cause there are bugs with debian/sidux/grml live with the ext4 format, they will not run persistent with a ext4 partition on my hd??!)
sio, I made a usb version with persistent overlay and made it wotk from hd

thoughts?

Hey Linus72,

Your setup seems a little complex, any reason you cant use vm's ?
