Need a video card driver for linux.

I have an onboard video 'card', and it WILL NOT work with Linux! I need a driver for it. Windows 98 says that I have a:

Intel 810e Chipset Graphics Driver(DC133FSB133)4.11.01.1321

Thanks for any help that can be provided! Please help me because I NEED X!!!

There is an 'i810' driver for 2.4.x kernels and
Quote:

requires the agpgart.o kernel module in order to use modes that require more than 1MB of video memory.

what distro have you got

managed to get redhat and mandrake working with the i810

i810

You should think about getting RedHat 7.1 or a newer dist. I know that RH7.1 has the necessary drivers for the i810 chipset. It will even auto-detect it and you don't really have to do anything. Very nice.

http://dri.sourceforge.net

it says that the i810e is supported.

check the documentation. there might be additional information there that may be of assistance to you.

Thanks! you guys really help! I'll take a look at the sites. I've currently got RedHat 6.1. I'll look into RedHat 7.1.

Intel i810e/i815e
2D Video Adapter

Driver Location: N/A

Notes:
The i810e cards do not work correctly with the drivers included in Red Hat Linux 7.

WHAT IS THIS? I THOUGHT MY CARD WORKED WITH RED HAT 7.1! I HOPE I DID NOT WASTE MY MONEY.

Does this not affect 7.1 because it is a later version? Thanks, and PLEASE respond! I'll go nuts!

Unless its not updated properly, if they didn't work in 7.1, it would have said 7.1 and not just 7 to my knowledge. Best advice is to go ahead and give it a try.

Okay, I'll go with it. Thanks alot for the help!

I can't speak for Red Hat 7, but I have personally installed Red Hat 7.1 on several machines with the i810 chip set and it worked perfectly. I have got the i810 to work with RH 7 but it takes a lot more work to do it. Make sure you have 7.1!

Thanks for the insurance!

Thanks! do you know if the i810 and the i810e are the same? Thanks again!
