Need a Linux ISO host
I just finished the 0.1RC1 version of my linux distro, but I have no ISO hosting site. Does anyone know of any that might be willing to host my ISO? LQ has an ISO hosting site, but as far as I know, it is for more popular distros, not distros that are completely new. The ISO is 688.7 MB, so I should need max 690 MB for hosting (burning ISO that 700MB in size messes up your CD as it burns all the way to the outer edge of the disc). I would like to have at least 2 hosts, but one stable one will do.
(PS: Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, I have no idea where this kind of topic might go...) |
If memory serves, LQ ISOs will host any distribution that has it's own website. It isn't really in the OSS community's blood to exclude somebody because they aren't "big name".
The website requirement is only logical. You need to at least have some page describing the distro, list features/requirements, an most importantly contact information so that bugs and other issues can be sent along to the developers (or you, in this case). |

Also how would I go about contacting LQ? Just emailing them or what? |
Anyone can suggest a distribution to add through this form. I don't know if there is a direct line of communication for distribution developers to use, though.

If you don't find anything adequate ... which is highly likely, most starting distros have big problems finding a good host. It's best to have a torrent setup as well.
