MythTV in Japan

First of all I live in Japan. I would like to be able to record some programs with the TV tuner card I recently bought, a kurouto shikou with Conexant Fusion878a-STVPC12 chip. Anyway, I found out, after some crazy searching on the net, that it IS listed under bttv! That's great...

So, please correct me when I am wrong:

I need Xawtv in order to use the card itself, right?

Now I want to use MythTv but according to everything I have read, xmltv wont grab channels for me since I am in Japan.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

If you can set me up with the knowledge to get this done in Japan, I can surely give you some shows in exchange over Waste. How does that sound?

hahahaha... now i get the other half of the equation! :D if you do want to code for it, the most logical step would be to write the japan support for XMLTV... find a website that will provide raw XML stream for the tv guide and go from there.
