MySQL - How to Get it Running

Installed MySQL but don't know how to get it going!

I want to do a MySQL course but don't know how to configure it. I can run it but nothing happens.

Can someone tell me how to get up-and-running with this.

Using Linux Pardus on a laptop.

Thanks.

I used this tutorial:
"How to install and run Apache web server in Ubuntu Linux"
(by danscourses on Feb 19, 2012)
http://youtu.be/-q8Jj4aAWYw
This tutorial has 3 parts:
1. installing apache web server
2. installing php5
3. installing MySql and phpMyAdmin
(the links to each part are in the description section of the tutorial)

Write down all passwords on a piece of paper or in a text file, and make sure you don't make typos...

Here is the MySql Reference Manual. In the grid on the opening page, under the column labeled Getting Started, click on Tutorial. It will walk you through getting started.

Do as kuser advised, write down your password.
