sounds like your going through what i've just been through (exept i was installing a third OS fedora with the already installed vista and suse)

anyway i'm not sure if it's the same for a scsi.. but i've spent the last week trying to put all the hardware corretly into my PC as well as the OS's i think all my hard disks are connected by IDE ports ... the slave setting for these is putting the jumper one right from the middle, and master is in the middle if i am not mistaken...
