Hello
I am trying to build a linux on floppy. I compiled the kernel and placed it on a floppy and i installed the lilo. But when the kernel starts loading the computer reboots automatically. I am using 2.4 kernel
Thanks in advance
Johnny
I am using the "Pocket Linux Guide " . i am having two floppies. The first on for booting and the other has the root file system with bash....The boot disk has lilo installed and has the kernel and does not have /etc/inittab. I seems that the kernel is nt loaded. there are no messages from the kernel .all i can see is
LILO
Boot ......
The system restarts
I am uncertain as to what the problem is. Lilo loads your kernel but does not communicate with the screen. I would check to see if you did the mknod commands correctly:
If the mknod commands are not right then that would explain why you cannot communicate with LILO. But I do not know why LILO would reboot at that point.
