Post My first question-New User

Hi All
I am a new user fro Linux Mandriva and I have some inquiry

‎1- I could not use my modem Motorola 56 to connect the internet because it is ‎category not in Modem but it is on unknown device ,why and how could i install it is ‎soft ware (if it need to ).‎

‎2- How could I use the commend environment?‎


Please advice me E-Books which could help me and thank you so much in advance
