Question My computer doesn't boot my cd


Hello everybody,

I am using ubuntu and I will try another distro Gentoo.
I Download the Live cd of the Gentoo site and burn it with K3b as ISO. Then I start my Computer my first boot device on CD then I reboot my computer and it don't works. With ubuntu I don't have problems that boot on. Gentoo was not installed yet. there comes at starting up stand:

Boot:


GRUB loading...
Starting up...

Can anybody help me please ?

If you see this menu then you are booting from hard disk.

Be sure you put your CDrom drive as first boot device.

Also be sure you have burned the iso correctly, but that shouldn't be any problem

You can install Gentoo using your Ubuntu installation CD. Just follow the installation handbook: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml

Check the Gentoo CD to be sure it has multiple files and folders--(not just the .iso file)
Also, try checking the md5 sum to make sure the download was OK. If this is OK, then you could also try burning at a slower speed.

Just install gentoo from your existing linux environment.
