Howdy. I'm using Mandrake 9.1 on a mac g3. I'm a noob and been working with Linux only for a few days. I tried to build the newest Gaim from source code, but I got this error when i used the ./configure command:
"checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr//bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... configure: error: newly created file is older than distributed files!
Check your system clock"
Well, the problem is everytime I set my clock, as soon as I hit the "ok" button, it resets itself to 4:00 Dec 31, 1969. Until now, I've considered it a minor annoyance. But it's now upgraded to a real problem. Should I just start over and try a new distro?(I tried Yellow Dawg, but the internet wouldn't connect and Debian is way, way too hard to install.)
Any suggetions would be GREATLY appreciated. Many thanks.
