Multiseat with dual-head video card?

I've been trying to setup a multiseat PC using Ubuntu 9.10 for weeks now with no luck.

I'm using a nVIDIA 9400 GT dual-head video card. VGA output goes to one seat and DVI output goes to another. However, I just read an old thread that suggests multiseating with a dual-head card is not an option. Is this still true?

If it is possible, would some of you with successful multiseat setups mind posting your xorg.conf and gdm.conf files for me to learn from?

You can nest Xservers with Xephyr sounds like it can be a bit of a resource hog though.

And here is a tutorial linked from the above site.

At the moment you can not have two Xservers addressing one card there is a feature request within the xorg processess but I don't know if any one has taken it on.

I'm really tempted to give Userful another try. It didn't work for me initially, but I've been reading on their website and discovered that DVI output is not enabled by default on some video cards. So, I'm hoping it just wasn't outputting to the screen when I thought it wasn't working. Easy enough to fix.

Even so, I feel like using their software is cheating and I should be able to set this up on my own using a single dual-head video card.

Can't seem to get Userful to output to multiple monitors at the same time. Darn!

I guess I'll just have to investigate the xephyr option...
