multiple X servers

IS it possibile to run X 4.0.3 AND 3.3.6 at teh same time? I'm trying to get Xinerama working, as i found an old S3 trio64v+ 2mb card and a naff old monitor. But the card is only supported under 3.3.6, and my geforce2mx is much better on 4.0.3. there's no chane of it actually working is there??

So you have two video cards in the same machine and want to run 4.0 and 3.3.6 off of each respective monitor from that same machine? You would then have to have two different versions of X installed on the same drive or do you have more than one drive and distro you are running? The only way I see it as working (outside of any hardware conflicts) is if you had two seperate installs of linux with each running the version of X you want and asigning the correct card to each install and xconfig. But I've not tried this or even thought about it so that's my first inclination.
