Multi location Linux install

All

We have getting multiple Intel servers in three sites. We want to install Redhat Adavanced server 3.0 in all of them. The installation is going to be exactly the same in all the sites except for the hostname,IP's etc .

We wanted to create a master disk and ship this disk to the various sites for them to be installed locally.

Has anybody done this before ?
How would we update the BIOS without actually using the install CD in the remote site.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanx
Balaji./

Probably what you can do is install on the master disk, and then make exact copies (clones) of the disk to install in the other machines.

I'm not sure why you would need to update the BIOS though...? Once the drives are installed in the new machines, they should boot normally without additional intervention.

Clones

Thanx for the reply.

Yes, I did not know if we have to update the BIOS.

Would I use a regular "dd" command to clone the disk or there are some other commands?

Balaji./

Yep, I think 'dd' should do the trick.
