Just a quick question....

I'm looking for a program that runs in X that will compress MP3s right of the audio cd one the fly. Also I would love it if this program took MP3s and decompressed them to wavs and burned them in one easy step.

I've found a great perl script called mp3munched for the command line but I would like a nice front end or stright up X program. Call me lazy.

And yes I've checked sourceforge and freshmeat and linuxburg. Maybe I'm missing it but if anyone know of a link that would be cool.

BTW: I would like it to be fast fast fast too.

There is a good program that works for me...

It is called Grip. It will rip and encode a CD at the same time. However, due to various copyright and patent laws, it does not come with a mp3 encoder.

If you need that, then go on Yahoo and do a search for mp3encoder. You should find it available as an RPM, and Grip will use it once you configure it to use it.

If you still cant get it, send me a mail, and I will help you further.
