I currently have a dual-boot (xp/Suse11.1) system with a single hard drive. I would like to add another HD and move the Suse installation to the second drive and use it exclusively for Suse and leave only XP on the original drive (disk 0). The current Suse partion on Disk0 is 55.5 GB and the new disk (1) will be 160 GB. I want to keep Disk 0 as the boot drive and keep the dual boot with Suse on Disk 1. I have read various threads about dd, rysnc, and clonezilla and am confused which would work best in my case. I then want to delete the Suse partion on Disk 0 and use it for XP. How should I proceed to this end? What about editing menu.lst when I'm done? Any input, experience or direction is very greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Use a live cd with partimage and copy the suse partition to the new HD then edit your grub appropriately, or use Ping(partImage is not Ghost) which can automate the whole process for you.
