move /boot to USB

Hello!
I have the following setup:
sda1=xp
sda2=/boot
sda3=root,home,swap as lvm/dmcrypt

I want to move sda2 to an SD-card (my bios supports booting from), so that sda boots into xp( i still have xp-mbr) and has only xp partition and encrypted partition (which may also be random data from secure delete, right?) I'm keeping sda2, will just format, so don't worry about repartitioning. I only need help with howto move and configure grub and fstab please.

Thanks in advance!

If XP bootloader is on your mbr how are you booting into Linux? Do you have a distro on sda3? Normally GRUB or Lilo is on the mbr and is used for dual booting Linux/Windows. You can certainly move your /boot to the flash drive, it needs to be bootable obviously and have GRUB on the mbr. If you can at least boot to the grub prompt then you could modify the config.

Thanks for your reply. How do I put grub on the USB mbr? I figured dd will do the trick, but it wouldn't boot. Screen stayed black. I know however that booting from that stick works, because I used it with unetbootin successfully.
I haven't got original XP mbr on sda, actually it is Truecrypt loader which can either decrypt sda1 and start ntloader or cancel boot and jump to sda2, which is where my grub currently sits.

I believe the GRUB installer loads it into the MBR.
Check out these instructions for GRUB Installation
