mouse problem
 
i have a problem ... my mouse dont work...

im trying to run Slackware and Mandrake but get the same result.

my mouse dont work.....

get this message ....;
Invoked from gpm.c(976)
/dev/psaux: device or resource busy

how do i fix this .... the mouse works 100% fine in the mandrake install program but not when installed .... help me please ... :(

I assume that you really are using a PS/2 Mouse?

yes i do use a regular ps2 mouse ....

but i dont get it to work ... :(

Stop using gpm and see if that helps.

i tryed that in last install of slackware....

but i dont know how to get rid of it in the mandrake, itīs not in the install program.... :Pengy:

well , on the slack it say something about "no screens" when i try to start X.

Slack dosn't configure X during the install, you have to do "xf86config" before you can startx.

im running slackware 8.0 now...

but i cant get the mouse working... what to do ?

when trying to start gpm it say /dev/mouse: function not implemented.... what to do ?:Pengy:

If your mouse is on the ps/2 port try /dev/psaux

check whether you have devfs installed. if you do then mr moderator above will be correct. otherwise:

Thats funny........I don't use devfs but I do use /dev/psaux as my mouse device......
