mouse freezes after logout in mandrake

Each time I start Mandrake 9.0 I am able to login and load up enlightenment with no problem and the mouse works. If I log out though, the mouse freezes, and won't work even if I log back into enlightenment. It also freezes if I am using gnome or kde and logout. Any idea why this would happen? What can I do to try and figure out what is causing it?

Did you download all the bugfixes that came out since the release of MDK 9.0 ? I remember vaguely there where some updates that could resolve your problem.

Okay, newbie time. How do I go about downloading these bugfixes. Is it on the mandrake site, or is there something to run in mandrake to bring it up?

In the Mandrake Control Center ( MCC) go to: Software Management > Mandrake Update, chose a mirror that is suggested, and download the list of updates. Check the list on relevant updates and download them. The install process is automatic. ( ! there might be over 100 MB updates relevant to you ! )

Well I tried updating, but couldn't really find anything relevant to my problem. I did find that restarting the x server allowed the mouse to work again so that I could log in again with mouse support. Any other ideas people have, or was there maybe something in the update I missed. I'm pretty sure I got everything that had even had *something* to do with the mouse though. Thanks for the suggestions that have been provided so far!
