Hi,
I see that a lots of stuff can be changed interms of appearence in both KDE/GNOME. One thing i always keep wondering is this.
While changing look & feel is nice & i am wondering how do i change the mouse pointers.
Like in M$does where you can customize a mouse cursor i don't see or i don't know how to do this in Linux / Kde.
it's only been possible in X 4.3, which was released a couple of days ago. there are only two official themes so far, but i guess people will start makign tons of them shortly. so if you want them with transparency etc.. upgrade to 4.3
So the mouse cursor in KDE is actully the mouse support/cursor provided by X??
Is there a possibility that KDE could do this all on its own using X for just mouse positioning & button handling ??
How dependent are KDE/GNOME or anyother WM for that matter on the X for this basic functionality.
Then what about the other input devices like Keyboard handling interms of their working with WM's.
Is there any website i could look at regarding this ??
Under Gnome 2.0 you can change the size and colour of the pointer to a limited degree. You can do proper pretty pixmap themes with the Enlightenment window manager.
