Mounting Volumes

Hi there...

Having a problem with security after mounting volumes.
Presentlly running Mandrake 8.0.
Trying to mount an internal Zip drive on "HDD".
Before its mounted the security on the drive is: rwxr-rwxr-rwxr, after I mount the zip drive I get:rwxr-xr-x.

I've tried mucking around with the Fstab file to manually alter security, and still get the above security when mounted.
Also tried chmod over the directory i'm mounting, which has no affect.

Anyone out there know or have come across this before, with any suggestions.????

Please....

I think you have to set 'chmod' on you ZIP drive in /dev directory
for instance chmod /dev/hda
