I am using a tiny Linux called Monkey Linux, installed over a DOS partition. It works fine in a command line but when I input "startx" to goes Xwindow my monitor goes black and nothing happen. I am forced to turn off my PC to start again the monkey linux.
They said that midnigth comander is installed for default in monkey linux. How can I check if my monkey linux has midnigth comander?.
Is there any other way to goes Xwindow?
Any idea why I can not go to Xwindow?
The command for Midnight Commander is mc. As for having to reboot in order to get back to anything sensible... have you tried <ctrl>+<alt>+<backspace>? That should shutdown any X server you may have running. Also, if you're having problems with X, you should check your logs to see what was going wrong - try /var/log/XFree86.?.log.
Yes I have tried <ctrl>+<alt>+<backspace> but nothing happened.
I will find with mc and I will check the .log file.
I will tell you what is the result.
