monitoring software for jboss on linux

Hi,

Am looking out for some kind of application monitoring software especially for Jboss on Linux.

Something that can monitor multiple jboss instances.

Not sure if this is the right forum but this was the closet topic.

Something opensource and customizable would be great help. Would appreciate any opinions/suggestions

Hello,

You could use Nagios to monitor JBoss. Standard installation doesn't have JBoss checks but from the NagiosExchange site you can get a check_plugin to perform in-depth checks on JBoss.

Kind regards,

Eric

Thanks for the suggestion. Will check it out. Can it monitor multiple JBoss instances. Would it also help with reports?

Hi,

I don't think Nagios or the standard plugins have support to monitor JBoss but you can get additional plugins to do that here at NagiosExchange.

Nagios comes with some reporting possibilities but if you need more than that you can check out NXE.

Kind regards,

Eric

Jboss Monitoring

Open source Available tools which can be used for monitoring are Zabbix, Nagios and Zennos. In this blog, I have used Zabbix (Low cost effective solution) Open source distributed monitoring tool for Jboss and Linux System monitoring.

Zabbix supports both polling and trapping techniques to collect data from monitored hosts. A flexible notification mechanism allows easy and quickly configure different types of notifications for pre-defined events.

For detail regrading Jboss monitoring using zabbix, please refer my blog : http://skajla.blogspot.com/2010/07/j...ng-zabbix.html
