monitor/ video troble?

I just installed mandrake 9.1 on my system and it installed fine, but i couldnt fine my video card in the list of manufactures, its a radeon 7500 64 mb pci card, so i just left it as the default intel card it choose for me. Besides that everything installed fine. I restarted the computer and it booted up fine but right when it should be switching over to the GUI the monitor goes black.
If you need anymore info just ask.

Do you have the manual of the monitor.I am guessing that your problems with the gui is because of the monitor.(I am asking becoz you could change the horizontal /vertical frequency of the monitor and see if it works)
Another solution(if your VGA card is indeed the culprit) would be to choose the vesa option in video card list(or better still editing the /etc/X11/Xfree86,if you know how to))
Well radeon 7500 had some problems (and as far as I know there were no drivers for this card).
So you end up with i810,but AFAIK it should work with i810 too.
