Monitor randomly goes into standby
For some reason, at seemingly random times, my monitor will go into standby. I don't detect a change with the CPU so I don't think the whole system is going into standby. And I don't think it can be the Power Managment either becuase I'm using the computer at the time. I also don't think it's my monitor becuase it worked fine when I first installed Linux (I recently re-installed to get rid of some newbie screwups). How the heck do I stop this?

I might have the same problem. What graphics card are you using, and what driver are you using it with? I have a Generic RADEON 9600 and i'm using the latest ati driver. How about you?

I have a OEM NVidia Vanta graphics card and I'm using the Riva TNT2 adapter. Everything seems to run fine with the exception that some graphic intensive programs such as Chromium (I think thats the name, it's some game) and some screen savers will either run extremely slowly or not at all.
