Monitor problems...
Have recently bought a 2nd-hand EIZO Flexiscan T560i-T (TCO) (or at least that's what it says on the front :D ). Under Windoze (boo) I can get it working at resolutions up to (and just exceeding) 1600x1280. Under Linux, however, I can only push it to 1280x960 (or whatever) using the generic settings. There don't seem to be any Eizo settings for X for this specific monitor (some for models either side, but not mine - it seems). Have found buggar-all on the Eizo website. Has anyone else got a solution? (i.e. Does Mandrake 8.1 (with whatever version of XFree86) support this - I'm downloading it now :D, or is there a nice little work-a-round).
Thanks muchly. |
in your case I think its not so much the screen, but a question of capabilities of the graphic cards' "driver", the X server, that limits display resolution.

Graphics card: Abit Siluro T400 (which is really a GeForce2MX something-or-other in disguise).
Thanks for the input, but have just answered my own question: Mandrake 8.1 installation does have settings specifically for my monitor. It appears that there are 2 manufactures called Eizo  . Got it working up to 1600x1280 now. |
