Modprobe module remove

Unfortunately, my laptop uses an Atheros wireless card. This card is great in Windows (shiver) but in Linux you have to use ndis. I tried installing the Linuxant Driver Loader, only to have it not work. My wireless card works fine now, but I still have a problem with modprobe. It is still trying to probe a module that doesn't exist. I managed to fix the majority of the problem by removing Driver Loader, but one module is still searched for. Fedora still finds my wireless card in the hardware browser and modprobe is still looking for it. How do I tell modprobe to stop probing for it? I tried modprobe -r wlan which prints out without any error, but does nothing to my system. I have already uninstalled all software related to my wireless minus ndis, and I am out of ideas.

Thx

You could edit the file that tells the kernel which modules to load on boot.
Code:
nano -w /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
Gentoo uses nano, but you can vim or whatever you like. Does that help?

EDIT: Grammer fixes. Sorry, I'm a bit anal about that sometimes
