modprobe errors on shutdown
When shutting down my RH7.1 system I receive the following error:
Saving mixer settings modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-0
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate sound-service-0-0
aumix: error opening mixer
[ FAILED ]
Any ideas what it means - I haven't even got a sound card.

Its just trying to find a module that itsn't there as you don't have a sound card (even if its were there is wouldn't load AFAIL)... Its nothing to worry about.

you could try getting rid of aumix too. I hate having errors in my logs 'that can just be ignored'. But jharris is right, there is nothing to worry about.

if you want to get rid of the errors, then go into the /etc/modules.conf file, and either #comment out the sound-slot-0 and sound-service modules, or set them too off. that should keep modprobe from trying to find them.
