modify fstab


Hi friends

I hv 2 modyfi mt fstab but it is a file system read only...
please help me what should i do?

First, do not mess with it unless you know for sure what you're doing (and, make a back up before you do anything else!).

/etc/fstab is a system configuration file and must be edited by the super-user or using sudo.

yes i know.....
but my system always in reboot check my file system in 30 minutes and i have 2 change some thing
i log in with root but i cant modify that...

Why do you want to modify your fstab file.
According to your other thread, your HD is dying.

Download a live CD and check your drive from the live CD

If you have an error in your /etc/fstab, it will leave you with root mounted as read-only.

Simply remount the root filesystem as read-write
