mixing gnome and fluxbox

I like the Fluxbox window interface where you can have tabbed windows. Also the Gnome panel. So what I have done. I made started Fluxbox and in the startup script put "gnome-session &" to startup gnome. ok I got both. However programs that startup all land in the Fluxbox panel (like the power control) after that whatever program I run goes to the gnome panel.

Basically I want tabbed windows in Gnome.

How may I go about this?

Thank you.

(this is cool, my first time taking pieces like this and putting them together)

you can run fluxbox,
with in .fluxbox/startup:
Code:
gnome-panel &
nautilus &
gnome-settings-daemon &
gnome-volume-manager &
gdesklets&
(and hide the fluxbox panel since you have already gnome-panel)

Ah found out how. In fluxbox init file ($HOME/.fluxbox/init) search for

session.screen0.toolbar.tools:

If not exist then create it. And remove iconbar. There is a bug though if you leave it blank there seems to be a memory leak and Fluxbox crashes. So just put a clock in it to prevent the bug and simply hide the toolbar.

Second: in $HOME/.fluxbox/startup add

gnome-session &

Launching the Gnome programs manually(nautilus, gnome-panel etc..) doesn't work correctly (They seem to communicate with each other and gnome-session "fixes" the links). Now there are 2 places to have startup's Gnome's(using the session program) way and Fluxbox's(startup file) way and they all goto gnomes Iconbar rather than Fluxbox's.

Fun Time; alright
