missing a repository's public key

I tried to add the Debian Lenny backports repository to Synaptic in a new MEPIS installation, but it says:
Quote:
W: GPG error: http://www.backports.org lenny-backports Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY EA8E8B2116BA136C.
How do I get the key? I looked in the apt-get man page, but didn't see anything about public keys.

You could search for a package called checkaptgpg, install it and run it as root. It's about 99% easier than the above.
