Min/Max buttons?
How do you get the Min/Max buttons on the left hand side like in the Macs?

That depends on which window manager you are using. Are you using Gnome, KDE, Fluxbox, IceWM...? Some of them allow you to configure the location of titlebar buttons, but others don't.

I believe that the placement of titlebar buttons in Gnome is determined by the theme your window manager uses. Gnome uses Metacity for a window manager, if I recall correctly; see if there are some options in your control panel for switching to different Metacity themes. You may also be able to download more Metacity themes if you don't find one that you like.
