memory consumed by a process

Hi all,

I want to find out the memory consumed by my script during its execution. Its a script which runs for around 30 seconds only and am manually executing that also.

How can I find out the memory usage of the script during its execution other than top, free?

If vmstat, how can i do that ?

You can try the pmap command. It accepts the PID of the running process as argument and gives the total memory usage of that process together with the memory mapping of each allocated shared object.
