man page with weird characters?


man pages comes out with weird characters...how do i correct this?


$ man touch

NAME
touch ‚ change file timestamps

SYNOPSIS
touch [OPTION]... FILE...

DESCRIPTION
Update the access and modification times of each FILE to the current
time.

Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options
too.

‚a change only the access time

‚c, ‚‚no‚create
do not create any files

....

it does this for every man page command...

answer found

change /etc/sysconfig/i18n
to

LANG="en_US"
SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"

then reboot, you are good to go


> $ cat /etc/sysconfig/i18n
> # LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
> LANG="en_US"
> SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en"
> SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"
