Hi -

I was disappointed with how *ugly* Suse 11 looked, compared with earlier releases (including 10.x). Maybe there's a way to make it look prettier (I admit I didn't look very hard) ... or maybe it's just a ploy by SuSE's new owners (Novell) to force you to buy the paid versions (or worse, to abandon Linux for Windows!)

theacerquy what do mean exactly by os x style ?
Because as you know you still cane use kde 3 or kde 4 or xfce or lxde

Paulsm4 ugly or not that is personal .
Why should opensuse force you to buy the paid version or abandon linux for windosz
The paid version is to make you easy not burning a media and I do not know if it still so but with paid version you also buy a installation help

Although these days I mostly use Fedora 10 GUI LXDE
Why on my box it runs fast

Hi, theacerguy -

Please ignore Mr. Beauty-is-in-the-eye-of-the-beholder. I'm not sure what's happening with the "Community" versions of OpenSuSE, but the increasing lack of attention to "look and feel" is so dramatic in recent versions of OpenSuSE that I'm (almost?) convinced it's deliberate. And I'm not at all surprised that your "Mac OSX" feature was present in 10.x, but missing in 11.x.

Please let us know if you find the feature (perhaps as a download from the Novell site, perhaps hidden in some "magic directory" or GUI submenu).

Your .. PSM
