Make My own rpm file

Hello,
Can I create rpm package for my application just like we create exe (setups) in windows. So that I could be able to install the whole application on linux just by running that rpm.
When I run rpm, I need to ask the users various installations parameters like location of cgi-bin directory, tomcat directory, apache directory etc...
I need to check whether particular software like perl is installed on the machine or not...

Can we build this rpm by ourself so that I can give it to my clients so that they just have to run rpm and install it on their machine...
Thanks

rpm's can't ask questions, they are able to change their default base location etc... but they are a generic format, so are not supposed to be able to find other program details, other than to fulfill dependencies. i would advise you to write some form of setup script as part of the rpm contents to do post-install config. to create an rpm file though, you need to write a specfile, whch details things like package names, file locations etc...
