make filter in evolution

I have just installed FC4 and want to use evolution as my mail client.
I have a gmail account which contains more than 50MB data on it. It will be very costly and time consuming if I want to download all of them to my computer since in gmail there is no option to delete mails (seems to me).
I wanted to know if there is any filter in evolutiuon to download only thsoe mailes which are received after a given date.
I am looking forward to hearing from you,
thanks,

Deleting Email in Gmail is easy - from your Inbox, just click on the checkbox for each message you want to delete, then select "Move to Trash" from the "More Actions" drop-down (in the upper blue bar next to the "archive" and "report spam" buttons)

To create a filter in Evolution that only picks up messages received after a given date, go to Tools > Filter > Add. Give your rule a name, then in the "If" section, click on the leftmost checkbox and choose Date Received. From the middle checkbox, choose "is after" and from the rightmost check box choose "a time you specify" then pick your date. In the "Then" section, click on the left checkbox and choose "Move to Folder" and in the right checkbox choose whatever folder you want, probably your Inbox That ought to do it
