mail server problem
my email is not working, nothing seems to be reaching my inbox, but it's not being bounced either. Something configured incorrectly on the mail server I think, but I don't know where to start looking?
It's only my mail that's not working, everyone elses is working fine off the same server I have shell access to the server, what can I check? |
you need to explain an awful lot more than you have... what IS this server? who's server is it? is this only on one mail client?
|
well I could go on for pages about all the things I think may be wrong, how I think things are set up, how much testing i've done and the various results I've got, all the changes I've made and all the logs I've tailed and post 'em, but I suspect you'd get bored very quickly. I don't know enough to know what's relevant and what's not.
I know I can't get mail with any client. Any mail sent to me is not bounced. I own the mail server (or at least rent a Debian Virtual Server) and have shell access I sort of manage it with 1 or 2 other colleagues, who know alot more than me but are very busy One of these set up the mail Their mail works, a couple of generic addresses work, but mine seems to have stopped They don't know why and don't have the time to work it out or help me work it out I think we use a combination of procmail and courier Where could I start? |
