mail question
I have two Linux machines on my network that I have set up to send e-mails petaining to cron, logs etc to my desktop. The problem is that they both send their mail as root@localhost.localdomain. Is there someway to change them to send according to the hostnames I have set up? For example could they send mail as root@squirrel which is the qualified name anyway?
Thanks in advance for any guidance. |
By default its going to attach the hostname of your machine and domain name. Change those and it will send as that for system type mail.
man hostname |
