macromedia

Does anyone know of any rumors or talk about a macromedia studio (flash, fireworks, dreamweaver) to be released for linux? currently i am running dreamweaver and flash (mx) through wine but it would be so nice to have a linux version of mx 2004.

People have discussed that before, I think. We can dream all we want, but I believe the reality is, that Macromedia has no plans to port that stuff to Linux any time soon.

You could try running the Darwin kernel and see if you could make the OS X port run on it Chances are pretty slim though...

Well, in fact it's the base of the new Apple OS, Mac OS X. It is possible to run only Darwin (it's a little bit like a Linux distribution) without the Apple graphical environement. Darwin uses a mach kernel.

Moreover, Darwin (not Mac OS X) can run on PCs.
