Lucent/Agere WinModem 048c (rev 02)

Hi...
I'm trying to make my lucent 048c work on my Slackware 9.0 and I'm not getting to do it. I have downloaded the source.. the kernel-headers and I got to compile the driver successfuly but when I try to dial it simpy locks my mouse and after about five senconds it unlock the mouse and returns NO DIALTONE.
I've heard that this modem 048c chipset it's not working on linux yet.
Anyone can help me?!?

That modem is not supported by the lucent drivers. It is an AMR modem, and agere has not written drivers for it yet. Here's a Google cached page on the issue, and another page here.

Now I'll have to wait for its driver release...
God helps it doesn't take so much time...
If someone gets its driver... or knows a way to make it work out...
