ls -l does not indicate links

Dear Forum
I have a link (created by 'ln <SOURCE> <TARGET>') in a directory, pointing to a script in some script_collection directory. However, when I list the directory containing the link, it does not indicate it as such, instead it just lists it as if it was a file (no arrow to where the link is pointing to).

How could this be changed? Especially, since the link not necessarily is called the same like the source file and therefore I sometimes would like to need to know what I am linking to..

Happening on Ubuntu/Bash.

Feedback is very appreciated.
Thanks, have a good start into the week (this time everything will be differtent, NOT )
