lpr command brings up a GUI with the "OK" button greyed out

Running Debian lenny.

If I use the lpr command from a regular ssh client (ie. not using xterm), I get a printout from a IP printer without problems.

But if I am using an xterm and issue the exact same command, a window named "LPR GUI" pops up. The problem with the gui window is that the "OK" button is greyed out and nothing I do seems to allow me to print.

Help?

I guess it's good that there are now 21 views here - at least that means people are looking.

I am really baffled by this - even my best google-skills aren't able to come up with anyone else with a similar question.

I guess I should say this:
(1) yes, CUPS is installed (in fact, CUPS is how the printers are installed). Printing from cups works.

(2) I have the same problem with the lpr command from both normal user accounts as well as root. Meaning, this doesn't seem to be a permissions issue...

Check that /usr/bin/lpr-cups isn't a link but an executable, and use that command.
