Low speed copyng and moving files

Hi.
For the last time files are been copyed/moved very slow.
Speed slows down: starting approx. 70mb/s ... less less ... and struck at 6 mb/s.
No other application is using files, and system is OK.
Can u tell me what's the problem?
I figured this out. The problem: I was using big heavy buggy KDE 4. When changed to LXDE the speed was fine.
