Lost sound: ONLY TO LINUX OS

Hello!

I have recently lost sound to my OS only.
Amarok has sound, my messenger service has sound.
It only seems to be the operating system itself that lost sound.
Example: When you log into KDE it plays a little funky tune while loading up.. Well that does not play anymore. It was also then when I noticed other things like my KdeTv BT878 video (AVerMedia TVCaptur) software stopped playing sound. Nothing that I know of is muted. I do have mixers installed.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Suthern Comfort

Have you looked at your arts config in the kde configs... Is it disabled (I diable the sucker deliberately as I find arts too buggy for me)
