Lost association for folders on desktop

gnome
Here's an example of what i getwhen i tried to open a folder from desktop

A text editor starts and displays this
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=jax's Home
Type=X-nautilus-home
URL=file:///home/jax
X-Nautilus-Icon=gnome-fs-home

I believe i may have somehow assiociated folders with text editors, but do not know how to change that association back.
