Loss of Mouse Control

I recently upgraded to Mandrake 9, using xfree 4.2.1, however now when I log out, I lose control of the mouse, the cursor stays in the middle. If I restart the X-Server, it's cured in a blip, but still is annoying. Don't get any error messages, and this only happens when logging out as far as the login screen.

What brand of mouse are you using ?
Have you tried re-configuring the mouse in the control center ?

I have a wireless wheel mouse, and it worked fine in mandrake 7.2. I don't think reconfiguring will make much difference.

Did you do the mandrake updates and bugfixes ? I remember having some issues resolved after updating in the MCC

Good Plan, cept I have to download them all seperately, as I don't have a web connection in my uni hall for my pc!
