I have Googled the ARPANet at large, this site in particular, and read the AMD Athlon technical documents available on the AMD website. So far I haven't been able to find a single source that describes/discusses the different abbreviations in the flags field from the cat /proc/cpuinfo output. A lot of them are obvious (MMX, SSE, 3DNOW, etc.) and I have been able to find several by Googling them individually or looking them up in Wikipedia.
I'm not looking for a detailed technical description. I just want a paragraph or two the defines the abbreviation and what the technology is. Search for
MTRR in Wikipedia for an example of what I'm after. Also, I'm interested not only in the ones that show up when I /proc/cpuinfo my machines; I'm interested in general.
I'd be grateful if someone could point me in a direction I haven't tried. Thanks in advance.
