I am experiencing a wierd issue with Fedora Core 3. I will try to explain the steps that led up to it. I was using VNC from a Windows machine to access my FC3 machine and set up a single sign on to active directory according to this article:

It worked. I was able to use net to join my computer to AD. I wanted to give the log in a try from the FC3 graphical log in menu so in VNC I logged out then realized that VNC won't work and couldnt log back in so I sent a control-alt-delete through VNC. Later I went to my FC3 machine and the screen was blinking grey and not functional so I reset it and on boot it freezes on: INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes. So I reboot into run level 3 and at the login prompt type "root" and hit enter and it just refreshes the screen real fast to Login: again and so basically I cannot log in. I can use Putty from Windows and start the VNC server and then Use VNC to get a desk top and the Apache server works, in fact everything seems to work but I cannot log in to my FC3 machine.
Maybe VNC has nothing to do with it. I also cannot login using my AD account either. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
