I am working on Redhat Linux 7.3. I created user Id (ie user17) on my system now I am not able to login thru this user Id in GUI mode (gnome), But able to login with other user (ie root & user 18) can anybody help me to solve this problem. When i tried to login by user17 thru GUI mode screen just blinks 2 or 3 times & come back again to login screen. I am able to login thru root and able to create new user and able to login with that user. I assume there is some problem in Xconfig of the particular user profile. can any body help me

Error messages please? We can't assume what the problem is without details as we're not psychic!

how did you create the user? useradd? If you did this then you should have access. Are you runing GUI or terminal commands? You should experiment with creating users in terminal. man usermod.
